Proposed site in the Tees Valley
- The proposed 6.5 hectare (ha) site is located approximately 2km to the south east of Billingham, Teesside. The site forms part of a petrochemical cluster and was previously occupied by a power station, which has since been demolished, leaving a flat undeveloped area.
- The proposed plant includes fuel collection and storage facilities
- The construction of the plant is expected to take approximately 24 months, with commissioning and testing taking a further 6 months
- It is expected that the plant will operate initially for up to 25 years, Following this the plant would be decommissioned and removed - this is a straightforward operation after which the land will be made available for alternative uses.
